The Washington State Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Cle Elum on Monday afternoon. The accident occurred on Interstate 90. The timing of the accident is not yet known at this time.
According to the officials, a 2013 Subaru Legacy was headed west and was approaching a curve in the road. Instead of following the curve, the vehicle crossed into the right lane and left the roadway before landing in a ditch.
Two of the people present in the vehicle were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have identified them as 26-year-old Brendan Kivlehan and 24-year-old Natalie Nicoletti. Two others incurred major injuries and were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
