The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) reported a hit-and-run accident in Jefferson Park, Los Angeles, on March 28, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, following a collision involving a suspected DUI driver and a UPS truck.

The crash occurred near Arlington Avenue and W. 29th Street when a black BMW, travelling at over 100 mph, ran a red light, striking the UPS truck and then veering into oncoming traffic. Two occupants in the BMW – a woman in the front passenger seat and a man in the backseat – were fatally injured. The identities of the victims remain undisclosed at the moment. The driver of the UPS truck sustained minor injuries while unloading packages.

Despite attempts to flee, the driver of the BMW was apprehended by witnesses. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the collision.
