According to the Mesa Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Friday morning in Mesa. Officials confirmed that two people died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities confirmed that the collision occurred near Alma School Road and Pampa Avenue, which is north of Elliot Road. A vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons. Subsequently, the vehicle hit a curb and drove into a pole.
The passenger inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital sustaining injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Insights including the identity of the driver or the occupant are yet to be released. The crash continues to be investigated by the MPD.
