According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Saturday morning in League City. Officials confirmed that two people died due to the motor vehicle accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred on the Gulf Motorway near FM 646. A vehicle travelling on the wrong side of the road struck another vehicle. As a result of this, one of the vehicles burst into flames.

The two occupants of one of the vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, and one occupant was transported to the hospital, sustaining major injuries. The identities of the deceased persons remain unknown.

The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
