2 people killed following a solo-vehicle accident on Interstate 19 (Tucson, AZ)

Two people lost their lives following a crash early Tuesday, March 8, in Tucson.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place on Interstate 19 near Canoa Road. The early reports showed that the victims who died were in the truck that became involved in a pursuit from a Border Patrol agent.

According to the authorities, seven people were in the vehicle, which crashed at milepost 31 in the northbound lanes of the interstate. A Border Patrol agent became involved in the chase before the truck involved swerved off the road, flipped over and struck several trees.

Due to the impact, the people in the truck’s cargo bed were thrown, and one was declared dead at the scene. Four other passengers were rushed to a Tucson hospital with injuries ranging from serious to life-threatening. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
