Two people were killed and two children received injuries following a high-speed crash Sunday morning on Interstate 10 in the West Valley.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place at about 12:22 a.m. on the I-10 near 59th Avenue. The driver and passenger, a man and woman, were declared dead after the vehicle crashed into a barrier wall at a high rate of speed.

Two children who were in the backseat of the vehicle, ages 2 and 4, were transported to a hospital. The extent of injuries sustained by the children remains unknown at this time. The identities of the victims have not been revealed. No other details are available.

An investigation is underway.
