The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office reported a motor vehicle crash in Yuma on Thursday evening.
The accident happened between Ironwood Drive and 40th Street, close to the Fortuna Wash area at around 5:14 p.m.
According to YCSO, the RZR was traveling south on an unmarked trail, driving up a hill, and the driver did not notice the trail’s end. The driver reportedly couldn’t stop in time and drove off the cliff, which had a 35-foot drop.
The driver, a 60-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in the Phoenix area, while the passenger, a 51-year-old woman, suffered only minor injuries and received first aid at the scene. The name of the victims has not been made public yet.
The crash is being investigated by the officials. There are no other details available at this time.
