On Thursday afternoon, two people suffered injuries following a traffic accident in Lafayette.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place on NW Evangeline Thruway near Interstate 10 in Lafayette. On arrival, emergency personnel rushed two people to the hospital in serious condition. The identities of the injured victims have not been revealed at this time.
The incident led to the closure of portion of NW Evangeline Thruway near I-10 as crews worked at the scene. The roadway was back open as of 6:40 p.m., officials reported. No other details are immediately available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
