2 people injured after a two-vehicle accident in Ottawa County (Olive Township, MI)

On Sunday morning, two people suffered injuries following a rear-end crash in Ottawa County.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place on southbound US-31 at Port Sheldon Street shortly before 11:30 a.m. in Olive Township. The early reports showed that a Ford Explorer was pulled over for a traffic light when it got hit by a GMC Acadia from behind. The driver of the Explorer was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries, although they are believed to be non-fatal.

The driver of the Acadia was taken to a hospital with minimal injuries. Southbound US-31 was shut down for approximately an hour during cleanup. All lanes have since reopened, officials stated. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
