On Friday morning, two people suffered injuries after their two tractor trailers crashed on I-40 near mile marker 388.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle wreck took place at about 5 a.m. on I-40 East close to Interstate 275. The preliminary investigation showed that one tractor trailer was heading eastbound on Interstate 40 while the other was merging onto the interstate.
At some point of time, the tractor trailer going on I-40 hydroplaned and jackknifed into the second trailer’s path. As the second tractor trailer collided with the first, it caused the cab to dislodge and fall over the side of the overpass. On arrival, medics took both of the drivers to area hospitals with non-fatal injuries. No other details are available.
The crash remains under investigation.
