On Thursday evening, two people suffered injuries following a traffic collision near downtown Reno.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of Evans Street and Sixth Street at approximately 4:45 p.m. after getting reports of a bicycle crash. The early reports showed that a taxi cab hit two bicyclists for undetermined reasons. On arrival, emergency crews transported the two victims to a hospital with unknown injuries.
According to the officials, the accident occurred just outside Reno’s new pilot program for a micromobility zone downtown, which is testing out new ways to integrate pedestrian, cyclist and automobile traffic patterns. Traffic was moving again in the area within about an hour as the scene was cleaned, authorities mentioned. No other details are immediately available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
