On Monday, two people were injured after a North Kitsap School District bus crashed into a tree service utility truck near Poulsbo.
As per the initial information, officers quickly responded to the area of the 3500 block of Northwest Half Mile Road near Poulsbo at about 3:16 p.m. after getting reports of a two-vehicle crash. On arrival, crews found the bus driver pinned in the driver’s seat. The driver was rescued and rushed to a hospital in serious condition.
Three students on the bus managed to escape out the emergency exits and were evaluated by medics before being released to their parents/guardians. A worker from the tree service utility truck was thrown due to the impact of the collision and was taken to a hospital with minimal injuries. Northwest Half Mile Road between Clear Creek Road Northwest and Southern Boundary Road was shut down as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
