2 people hospitalized after a rollover crash on I-96 near Coopersville (Coopersville, MI)

On Sunday, two people suffered injuries following a rollover crash near Coopersville.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of I-96 near 48th Street at about 11:30 a.m. after getting reports of a single-vehicle accident. The early reports showed that a van struck the median and rolled over. The driver, a 75-year-old man from Belmont, and a 73-year-old woman were transported to a hospital in Grand Rapids. They are expected to survive their injuries.

Officials reported that there were also two children in the vehicle, a 10-year-old and an 8-year-old. They did not receive any injuries in the crash. The right lane of I-96 was shut down in the area as crews worked at the scene, but has since reopened. No additional information has been provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
