As per the initial information, the head-on collision took place on the westbound side of I-8, near East Victoria Drive, just after 2 a.m. The early reports showed that a gold Nissan Altima and blue compact car were involved in the crash.
The reports also revealed that the Altima was heading eastbound on the westbound lanes when it crashed head-on into the blue car. Both vehicles reportedly caught fire due to the impact, but responding firefighters managed to pull both drivers from the cars before anyone was burned.
