The Washington State Department of Transportation reported a motor vehicle crash in Toppenish. The accident happened on Interstate 82, according to the officials. The collision involved two semis.
An apple-carrying semi was hit by a Key West truck that had overturned. Later, the Key West truck’s engine caught fire.
The Keywest driver is the only one who has received minor injuries, according to Yakima County Fire District 5. The name and identity of the driver have not been made public yet.
The fire is currently being put out. There are no open lanes between mileposts 48 and 47.
The officials are investigating the crash. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
