The Longview Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Monday evening. The accident happened at Highway 259 and Fourth St intersection at around 5 p.m.
The collision involved five vehicles. The events leading up to the collision are not yet known at this time.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene. The names and identities of the victims have not been public yet.
It is unsure what caused the crash and how it happened. Whether drug or alcohol was a factor involved is yet to be found. The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
For about two hours, the intersection was shut down while police investigated and vehicles were removed.
