The Grand Prairie Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Sunday evening. The accident happened on Interstate 20 at around 5:15 p.m.
Thompson was eastbound on Interstate 20 in a Chrysler when he lost control in the 500 block of the interstate and sideswiped a Mercedes. The Mercedes was forced towards the right shoulder where it collided with a three-person Chevrolet that was stuck.
One person perished there. One of the other patients died and one is in critical condition after the other patients were taken to a hospital.
It was unclear if the deceased had been given names by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to Grand Prairie police, William Thompson, 22, was detained on suspicion of two counts of manslaughter and one count of aggravated assault in connection with the fatal crash and injuries of a third person.
