The Goodyear Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday morning. The accident happened close to Cotton Lane and MC-85 at around 8 a.m.
The authorities have reported that a pickup truck had crashed into a group of bicyclists which resulted in two people dying and eleven injured.
A woman passed away there, and a man passed away in the hospital. At least one of the additional 11 victims was in a life-threatening condition when they were transported to the Valley’s three hospitals.
The truck driver, Pedro Quintana-Lujan, 26, was detained on a number of charges, including two counts of manslaughter, three counts of aggravated assault, 18 counts of endangerment, and two counts of seriously injuring or killing someone while violating traffic laws. His bail has been set at $250,000.
The cause of the fatal collision is not yet known.
