Authorities responded to a four-vehicle crash on Saturday at 3:29 a.m. that killed two people in Reeves County.
An initial investigation revealed that 30-year-old Juan Orta-Gonzalez was driving a 2020 Toyota Tacoma eastbound in the westbound lanes of IH-20 near MM 19.
Orta-Gonzalez struck a 2015 Toyota Corolla traveling westbound. After the first collision, two more vehicles crashed into the Toyota Corolla.
The driver and passengers of those two vehicles remained uninjured.
The passengers of the Corolla, 18-year-old Ild Leilani Ann Orr and 44-year-old Stephanie Ferrer, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Corolla driver was taken to Reeves County Hospital in critical condition.
Orta-Gonzalez remained uninjured during the crash and was arrested for two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
The crash is being investigated.
