On early Sunday morning, two men lost their lives following a traffic collision in South Nashville.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle crash took place on McCall Street. The early reports revealed that a GMC Sierra pickup truck was going at a high rate of speed in the westbound lanes of McCall Street when it crashed into a Nissan Sentra that was backing out of a driveway.
Due to the impact, the GMC pickup drifted off the roadway and hit a utility pole. The driver of the truck, a 27-year-old man and his 26-year-old male passenger died of their injuries after the crash. On the other hand, the 18-year-old driver of the Nissan and her 16-year-old passenger were both taken to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital with non-fatal injuries.
Authorities are trying to notify the victim’s families in Mexico. According to the officers, there were no indications of impairment found at the scene. The identities of the victims have not been released. No other details are immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
