According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, a fatal crash was reported on Friday in San Tan Valley.
Officials confirmed that two people died due to the accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred south on Gantzel Road near Painted Desert Drive.
The driver of a car crossed the dirt median and went into the northbound lanes for unknown reasons.
He then struck another car.
The passengers in the first car were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
The driver of the car that caused the collision sustained injuries.
Other details including the vehicles involved and the identity of the victims have not been revealed yet.
The crash remains under investigation by the PCSO.
