2 injured after a big rig overturns and lands on a car in Carson (Carson, CA)

On Wednesday afternoon, two people were hurt after a big rig overturned and landed on their car, covering their vehicle with the load of sawdust and mulch in Carson.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place at about 2:15 p.m. near the transition road from the southbound 110 Freeway onto the eastbound 91. The preliminary investigation revealed that a big rig loaded with mulch and sawdust overturned, for reasons that are yet to be known, and landed on a Sedan. The big rig’s load completely covered the Sedan that was occupied by two people at that time.

On arrival, emergency crews rescued two people from the Sedan and they had no visible injuries. However, one person was transported to the hospital for further treatment. The driver of the big rig also remained unharmed. Authorities cordoned off the area while crews worked at the scene.

The crash remains under active review.
