19-Year-Old Salinas Man Killed In A Motor Vehicle Accident In Monterey (Monterey, CA)

The California Highway Patrol has confirmed the death of a 19-year-old Salinas man in a rollover crash on Highway 1 near Soledad Drive. The motor vehicle accident occurred on February 2, at approximately 9:41 p.m.

Authorities discovered a 2003 Honda Accord with rollover damage. Investigators determined that a young man from Salinas was driving northbound on Highway 1 when the vehicle veered off the roadway, overturned, and collided with a guardrail. Despite efforts to save him, the victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

One lane of Highway 1 remained closed for two hours following the fatal crash. The California Highway Patrol has ruled out drugs or alcohol as contributing factors.
