The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles in Elk Grove. The collision resulted in the death of a 19-year-old on Saturday.
At around 9:15, a 19-year-old was driving an Infiniti at high speed. The vehicle then crashed into a Ford van and a centre divider on I-5 N, South of Hood Franklin Road. The 19-year-old was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
