According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday in Fairfield.
Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Vanden Road at One Lake Drive.
A student was traveling east on the partially flooded road and she lost control of her vehicle.
She then crashed into a pole.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Speed and unsafe wet conditions are being considered as factors that caused the accident.
Other details including the identity of the victim have not been revealed yet.
The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
