On Monday afternoon, a multi-vehicle accident on Dickerson Pike took the life of 19-year-old Emmanuel Edmondson.
As per the initial information, the fatal three-vehicle pile-up took place in the 2500 block of Dickerson Pike near Lemuel Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Sedan, an SUV and a school bus were involved in the accident. The driver of the Sedan, 19-year-old Emmanuel Edmondson, died as a result of the collision. There were no other critical injuries after the accident.
Reports further added that the school bus from Rocketship Nashville Northeast Elementary was on its way to pick up students when the incident happened. The driver was the sole occupant of the bus. The driver of a Nissan Rogue, 66-year-old Deborah Moore was on Lemuel Road when she tried to turn left onto Dickerson Pike and crashed into Edmondson’s southbound Volkswagen Jetta.
The impact caused the Jetta to collide with the front of a school bus which was in the center turn lane on Dickerson Pike preparing to turn left onto Lemuel Road. The bus driver, Moore, and her passenger were taken to Skyline Medical Center with non-critical injuries. Impairment is not suspected to be involved. Officials believe that speed on the part of Edmondson and failure to yield the right of way on the part of Moore contributed to the wreck.
An investigation is ongoing.
