19-year-old boy from Fort Hood dies in a fatal car crash on I-35 (New Braunfels, TX)

A young man from Fort Hood died in a fatal car crash on I-35 early Monday morning.

According to the City of New Braunfels, its officers responded to the crash scene off I-35 North, not from the Buc-ee’s and near the TA Truck Service stop. On arrival, they found a gold Volkswagen Passat, which had veered off the highway and crashed into a utility pole before flipping over and ending in a field off the southbound access road.

The sole occupant of the car, a 19-year-old young man from Fort Hood, was said to have already been dead. The incident seemed to have happened hours before but was never reported. Initial reports indicate that the young man lost balance of his vehicle while speeding through a construction zone before the collision. Alcohol did not seem to be a factor as of now.

The crash is under review.
