According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Tuesday in Lockhart. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
The deceased person was identified as a senior from Lockhart High School. She was recognized as Yairette Tovar-Pineda. Tovar-Pineda’s vehicle collided with another vehicle.
Subsequently, she was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The events leading up to the crash have not been disclosed at this time.
The cause of the accident has not been disclosed yet. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
