The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reported a motor vehicle crash close to Spanaway. The accident happened at 225th street east close to 46th avenue east at around 2:19 a.m.
The car was moving quickly when the driver lost control, and the vehicle flipped over, hitting a tree and a house in the process.
The driver of the vehicle, identified only as an 18-year-old girl, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, identified as a 22-year-old man, was seriously injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. The identities of the victims are not yet known at this time.
The collision reduced the car’s front end to a mass of twisted metal. The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
