18-Year-Old Ryan Oliver Aguirre Dead After Motor Vehicle Crash In Rio Vista (Rio Vista, CA)

Officials from the California Highway Patrol report that an 18-year-old driver from Sacramento was killed after being struck by a  driver who is suspected to have been driving under the influence. 

The multi-vehicle incident reportedly took place on Highway 160 near Rio Vista on Sunday sometime after 9.30 PM.

A Subaru with a 20-year driver was driving southbound on the highway. They proceeded to cross over yellow double lines into the northbound lane. The vehicle collided with a Honda. The Honda resultantly went down the levee on the east side of Highway 160, and the driver of this vehicle died en route to a hospital. 

The driver of the Subaru suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, and has since been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

The highway in question was closed for a period after the crash but has since reopened.
