The Escondido Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon. The accident happened on North Center City Parkway, south of North Nutmeg St at around 1:15 p.m.
The collision involved only one vehicle. The vehicle veered off the road close to an off-ramp and climbed an embankment before rolling over multiple times. The driver was thrown from the car.
Preston Stubblefield, the driver, who is 18 years old, was injured and taken to Palomar Medical
Centre for treatment. The medical examiner’s office reports that he was pronounced dead on Thursday at 2:51 p.m.
According to the EPD release, the fatal crash cause is still being investigated.
