The Grant County Sheriff’s Office reported a motor vehicle crash close to Moses Lake on Friday evening.
A Mercedes was heading east on Road-4 Northeast when it did not stop at the stop sign at Roaf-L Northeast. This caused a southbound Ford pickup truck to crash into it.
The driver of the Mercedes, identified as 18-year-old Mario Rodriguez, incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in the Mercedes, identified as 18-year-old Taylor K. Davidson, was injured and taken to Samaritan Healthcare to receive treatment.
The GCSO Motor Traffic Unit is investigating the fatal collision. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
