According to the California Highway Patrol, an 18-year-old was killed in a motor vehicle collision in Nevada County on Monday.
Roughly at 4:45 p.m., a 2008 Infiniti driven by an 18-year-old westbound collided head-on with a 2019 Subaru WRX driven by a 78-year-old woman eastbound on Rough and Ready Highway, Greenwood Road. The 18-year-old was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
