The Washington State Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash on Sunday morning. The accident happened at Ryan Road, just north of Kamilche at around 7:30 a.m.
A Shelton man was travelling north on U.S. 101 at a high rate of speed, the WSP reported. The driver attempted to pass another vehicle using the left turn lane, but he lost control, swerved, and crashed into a cable barrier in the highway median. According to the State Patrol, this caused the car to roll before coming to a stop in the median.
The man was flown to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Centre but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The name and identity of the victim have not been made public yet.
The fatal crash is being investigated. There are no other details available at this time.
