According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Monday in Nevada County. Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Rough and Ready Highway near Greenwood Road.
Officials confirmed that one person died and one person was injured due to the motor vehicle accident. A 2008 Infiniti G37 heading westbound crossed into the eastbound traffic. It came directly into the path of a 2019 Subaru WRX. Both vehicles collided with one another.
The 18-year-old driver of the Infiniti was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck suffering severe head trauma. The 78-year-old driver of the Subaru was transported to the hospital sustaining serious injuries.
Other reasons pertaining to the wreck including the identities of the driver remain unknown.
The cause of the wreck is yet to be determined. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
