On Saturday morning, 18-year-old Jacob Moreno lost his life following a two-vehicle collision in Phoenix.

Officers actively responded to the area of 43rd and Missouri Avenues at about 9:45 a.m. after getting reports of a traffic crash. On arrival, responders came to know that a Sedan was heading northbound when the driver apparently lost control, veered left and crashed into a pickup truck.

The driver of the Sedan suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene. Authorities identified him as 18-year-old Jacob Moreno on Sunday. Two other men in the truck remained uninjured. Impairment is not believed to be involved in the collision. Officers shut down 43rd Avenue in both directions from Medlock Drive to Missouri Avenue as crews worked at the scene.

The crash remains under review.
