According to the Morristown Police Department, an 18-year-old Isabela Martinez died in a fatal crash on East Morris Boulevard on Saturday night.
Officials stated that Dominick Cornacchia, 23, was travelling eastbound on East Morris Boulevard at a high rate of speed at around 12:43 a.m. Around the same time, Sergio Garcia Gutierrez was attempting to head westbound on East Morris Boulevard after exiting a Waffle House parking lot.
The two-vehicle collided with each other and caused the accident.
Cornacchia was extracted from his vehicle and suffered serious injuries and was taken to Morristown Hamblen Hospital, while his passenger was airlifted to UT Medical Center.
Isabela succumbed to her injuries and died.
According to the officials, Gutierrez was airlifted to the UT Medical Center with suspected serious injuries.
Police suspected that Cornacchia was driving under the influence of alcohol.
The multi-vehicle crash is being investigated by the officers.
