The Kent Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Saturday morning. The accident occurred on West Smith, just west of 4th Avenue North at around 1:03 a.m.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. The events leading up to the crash are not entirely clear at this time.
The passenger of the vehicle was fatally injured and was rushed to a hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. The officials have reported that they suspect the driver to have been impaired at the time of the crash. There are no other details available at this time.
