The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reported a motor vehicle crash in Chandler on Saturday. The accident happened close to Hunt Highway and Arizona Avenue at around 5:30 a.m.
According to deputies, a truck carrying six people collided with a sedan carrying two people nearby Hunt Highway and Arizona Avenue.
Eight victims were taken to the hospital. Investigators reported that five other people had minor injuries, while a 16-year-old and a 49-year-old remain in the hospital with serious injuries.
An 18-year-old succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead in the hospital.
The name and identity of the victims have not been made public yet. No additional details regarding the fatal crash were made available right away.
