Tragedy struck in Huntington Beach, California, on March 7, as an 18-year-old male, David Mario Garcia Olmos, lost his life after being fatally struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle.
The bicycle accident occurred around 6:15 a.m. when Olmos was struck by a 2016 Kia Sorento on Talbert Avenue.
Despite being rushed to an area hospital, he succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the police. Olmos was riding westbound on Talbert Avenue when the collision took place with the westbound-moving Kia.
The 26-year-old driver of the Kia, hailing from Fullerton, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No suspicion of driving under the influence was reported. The presence of protective gear on Olmos at the time of the fatal crash remains unclear.
