18-Year-Old Aspen Blessing Killed In A Multi-Vehicle Crash In Callahan County (Callahan County, TX)

In a tragic incident early Sunday morning, Aspen Blessing, 18, of Baird, lost her life in a head-on collision on Interstate Highway 20. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that Brenden Lucero, 28, of Cassville, Missouri, was driving east in the westbound lanes. 

At that time, his Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck collided with Blessing’s Ford Edge SUV, traveling westbound. The crash occurred around 4 a.m., about four miles east of Abilene. Blessing was pronounced dead at the scene, while Lucero sustained serious incapacitating injuries and was taken to Hendrick Medical Center.

DPS Sgt. Marc Couch mentioned that Lucero was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The incident remains under investigation by the authorities.
