A 17-year-old teenager tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday evening, Feb. 7, according to the Horizon City Police Department. Officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Pawling Drive and Darrington Road at 5:55 p.m., where witnesses reported that the vehicle involved fled the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Horizon PD’s Special Traffic Investigations (STI) unit is actively investigating the crash. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time.
Earlier statements from Horizon PD indicated road closures in both directions between Horizon and Nunda. As this is a developing story, further updates will be provided as more information becomes available about the fatal crash.
