According to the Los Angeles County Department, a fatal crash was reported on Monday in Santa Clarita. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the bicycle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred at McBean Parkway and Skycrest Circle. An electric bicycle collided with a moving truck.
The bicyclist was identified as 17-year-old Louie Barba. Barba was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The cause of the accident is pending determination. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
The crash continues to be investigated by the LACD. There are no other details available at this time.
