The Temple Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Friday evening. The accident occurred in the 3300 block of Charter Oak Drive at around 7:18 p.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision. A pickup truck was headed south on Charter Oak at the same time as a Ford Expedition was headed north. The pickup veered into oncoming traffic which put it in the path of the Expedition. The two vehicles crashed.
The driver of the pickup was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time. The occupants of the Expedition are in a hospital, receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. There are no other details available at this time.
