The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in east Travis County. The accident claimed the life of a 16-year-old child, identified as Shuaib Shobande, in a collision on Decker Lane.
According to the officials, a teenager and a vehicle were involved in a collision. Shuaib, a Vandegrift High School student, was driving his 14-year-old sister to her basketball practice when the fatal crash occurred. Shuaib was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His sister, Karimot Shobande, survived with injuries, including cuts around her mouth and jaw damage. The officials have not disclosed any details regarding the vehicle or the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision.
