According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported in Madera. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred near Road 28 ½ and Avenue 14 ½. A 15-year-old driver and a 15-year-old passenger were driving a utility vehicle on private property.  The driver lost control of the vehicle and overturned.

This resulted in the passenger being pronounced dead at the scene. A 12-year-old who was in the bed of the vehicle was treated for minor injuries.

The identity of the deceased person remains unknown. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
