A tragic pedestrian accident struck Sun Valley on Saturday night as a 15-year-old expectant father lost his life after being hit by a car. The teen, identified as Carlos Pech by his family, was standing near parked cars at Strathern and White streets.
At that time, a vehicle traveling east on Strathern lost control. The 22-year-old driver collided with parked cars and struck Carlos. Emergency services rushed Carlos to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
The LAPD took the driver into custody; however, details about his identity and potential charges have not been released. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
