15-year-old boy seriously injured after a hit-and-run accident in Elk Grove (Elk Grove, CA)

A 15-year-old student received injuries after a bicycle crash Friday in Elk Grove.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run accident took place on Caymus Drive, just south of Brittany Park Drive close to the Maeola R. Beitzel Elementary School in South Sacramento. The preliminary reports showed that an SUV driver did not stop as the boy was crossing the street and hit the bicyclist.

The minor was thrown from his bicycle due to the impact. The driver left the scene without rendering aid to the victim. On arrival, first responders rushed the victim to a hospital in serious condition. No information is available regarding the suspect or the hit-and-run vehicle. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
