15-year-old boy died and 19-year-old teen injured after a two-vehicle collision in northeast valley (Las Vegas, NV)

A 15-year-old boy lost his life and a 19-year-old teen suffered injuries following a two-vehicle crash in the northeast valley while officers arrested a 52-year-old driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.

As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place at about 7:06 a.m. near Lake Mead Boulevard and North Walnut Road. The preliminary investigation indicated that a Ford and Toyota both ran a red light and crashed into each other. The 52-year-old male driver of the Ford reportedly stayed at scene but was later detained after he displayed signs of impairment.

Reports further showed that the 19-year-old driver of the Toyota received moderate injuries whereas their 15-year-old male front passenger was declared dead on the crash scene despite medical treatment.  The Clark County Coroner’s Office will reveal the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.

An investigation is ongoing.
