The Bakersfield Police Department reported a hit-and-run accident last Monday. The accident occurred in the 900 block of Union Avenue at around 10:50 p.m.
According to the officials, a pedestrian and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The pedestrian was crossing Union Avenue outside of a crosswalk when she was hit by the vehicle.
The pedestrian was critically injured and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries three days later and was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The vehicle involved in the fatal crash did not remain at the scene. The cause is still being investigated at this time.
